Nepal has caught my heart from day one, and became a place where I return to again and again. One main reason, its people.
Through a help project, I got the chance to meet a bunch of the little ones among them, who made me realize that we got the roles pretty much confused all along.
Living in one of the poorest countries in the world, these kids taught me that you don’t need much to have it all. What to us might appear as being happy for no reason, in their untained view they have all the reasons. Captivated by the tiny miracles that surround us daily, they enjoy the only reality that is.
The present moment.
No masks, no fear, just an unshakable trust in themselves. And that makes life limitless to them.
Their gratitude and their conscious of helping and taking care of each other, left me speechless more than once. But they had much more to say anyway.
And even though I couldn’t understand their words, their sparkling eyes spoke pretty clearly: Put your mind back in your heart and remember what it’s like to be “grown up” Didi!
